EGMA – the European GeoMembranes Association – represents the leading European manufacturers of polyolefin geomembranes.

The association is a non-profit making organisation.

Its objectives is the study and discussion of scientific, technical, economic, regulatory and institutional matters, which are of common interest to the civil industry, with the aim of creating a good trading environment within the growing Europe.

Nowadays polymeric geomembranes are widely used as lining elements for landfills, tunnels, hydraulic works and other civil engineering applications.

Over decades these products have proven their excellent performance as barriers for hazardous and non-hazardous liquids, solids and gases.

Innovative products provide outstanding durability and a long service life even under hardest conditions.

Every member of EGMA stands for the production of high quality products according to the state of the art. Harmonized European standards for the use of geomembranes will be published in the near future and lead to products with the CE-marking. EGMA’s mission is to present and promote the interest of its industry and be its voice vis-à-vis the European institutions, as well as to consult and to support specifiers by providing optimum economic and ecological solutions for containment and waterproofing applications.
